Who says learning English is all work and no play? Try these 10-minute English learning activities daily, and you will improve your skills and have fun!
1. Are you interested in what’s going on in the world? Go to an online news source and be sure to read the world news editions in English. You can even make a list of topics that you would like to talk to your English teachers and classmates about. Examine news headlines to quickly learn about new events and then later watch short news videos to gain more details.
2. Get your creative juices flowing by reading online magazines. Do you enjoy looking at new cars, fashion, or learning how to cook? Car magazines contain articles about the newest and latest cars. Fashion magazines talk about what is popular for the new season. Cooking magazines list interesting recipes and give tips on how to cook better. You can always read about something fun and exciting in English!
3. Where do you see yourself in five years? Make a goal list in English that clearly sets out all of your aims for the near future. Write down goals about your education, job, family, friends and hobbies. Put the list in a place that you see every day so you can check your progress often. You can also make a daily to-do list of tasks that you need to accomplish, and challenge yourself to only use English words.
4. Lastly, always remember to keep a small vocabulary notebook. When you are reading news articles, interest magazines, or writing your daily to-do list, also write down new words in your vocabulary notebook. You can easily check and review your notebook for a few minutes each day. After you master using a word, cross it off and continue practicing more words. If you add new words to your book every day, then you will always have new English to practice!
